One reason the first edition is a workshop is the abundance of candidate material. Rather than imposing a dataset, the session is a collective space in which the community assesses, compares and prioritises the available resources, so that later shared tasks are community-driven, resource-aware and grounded in real research needs.

Infrastructures

To complete: add the CLARIAH-ES URL and check whether other national consortia should be listed here.

Candidate collections

  • ParlaMint, comparable corpora of European parliamentary debates.
  • impresso, historical newspapers and media monitoring of the past.
  • Large-scale collections registered in the Virtual Language Observatory.

To complete: the proposal names “PressMint” and “Parliamint”. The second is almost certainly ParlaMint. The first could not be verified and may be a variant spelling of another project, so confirm the intended name, add its URL, and reinstate it in this list. Add licence and access conditions for every collection, since these determine what can be used in a shared task.

  • CHiC, Cultural Heritage in CLEF, on retrieval over cultural heritage collections.
  • HIPE, Identifying Historical People, Places and other Entities, at CLEF 2020 and 2022.
  • PastReader, at IberLEF, on historical newspapers.
  • HISEMOTIONS, at IberLEF, on emotion analysis in historical texts.
  • NewsEye, H2020 project on historical newspapers.

To complete: add links and reference publications for each initiative, and check the expansion of each acronym before publishing it.
