To complete: the proposal lists organisers without designating the task chairs formally responsible for running the lab, which CLEF requires. Name them explicitly here. Add an email address, a personal or institutional page and an ORCID for each organiser, and verify every affiliation before publication.

Matteo Romanello

ETH Zurich, Switzerland. Founding organiser of HIPE-eval at CLEF and ICDAR.

To complete: verify this affiliation in particular, since it has changed in recent years.

Maud Ehrmann, Simon Clematide and Matteo Romanello coordinated the HIPE evaluation labs at CLEF, leading the development of multilingual benchmark datasets, annotation schemes, evaluation methods and shared-task infrastructure for historical information extraction. Their work spans interdisciplinary projects at the intersection of NLP and cultural heritage, notably impresso (Media Monitoring of the Past), focused on information extraction and text analysis of historical documents.

Steering committee

A steering committee will provide strategic guidance and support the long-term sustainability of HUMANITAS, bringing together representatives from CLEF, DH initiatives, CH research, and the European infrastructures CLARIN and DARIAH.

The committee is expected to include representatives of the HIPE evaluation community, of the former CHiC evaluation community, and of CLARIN and DARIAH.

To complete: the proposal defers names, contact details and homepage links until the workshop invitation is formally accepted. Since acceptance has arrived, this section can now be filled in. CLEF asks for names, addresses and homepage links for each member.

Programme committee

The programme committee will contribute to the review process, take part in the discussions and help identify promising directions.

To complete: the full list of members, with affiliation and country. Also state whether reviewing is single or double blind, and how many reviews each submission receives.

Coordination

The lab chairs oversee all activities: scientific scope, coordination of submissions, and alignment with CLEF procedures and timelines. Data acquisition and preparation build on existing resources and infrastructures, including datasets from initiatives such as PressMint and CLARIAH-ES. Rather than fixing data and evaluation setups in advance, the lab prioritises a community-driven approach in which datasets, annotation practices and evaluation methodologies are jointly assessed during the workshop. For future editions, dedicated task organisers will be appointed as specific evaluation tasks are defined.
